Who supplies CamTrack

CamTrack is supplied by TAAD Solutions Ltd, registered in England and Wales under company number 17424610, at 62 Byron Square, Cambridge, CB2 9JL, United Kingdom. Contact support@camtrack.io for support and info@taad.solutions for privacy matters or a complaint. References to “we”, “us” and “our” in these terms mean TAAD Solutions Ltd.

Your free trial

We grant you a non-exclusive licence to install and use CamTrack on computers you control for your own research and business work during your trial. Your account identifies you; keep its sign-in details private. You may keep a backup copy of your installer. You may share the official download link with others, who can create their own accounts.

The trial lasts one calendar year from your first successful online sign-in inside the desktop application. Creating a website account or downloading an installer does not start it. All installations using that account share the same expiry date; reinstalling does not start another year.

The trial is free and does not automatically become a paid subscription. Any later paid offer would need your separate agreement. At trial expiry CamTrack requires a further licence to open. Your project files remain on your computer; export any results you need before the trial ends.

Connection and updates

An internet connection is required for initial desktop sign-in. After a successful online licence check, CamTrack allows up to ten further openings without a successful online check, within the existing trial period. It then requires reconnection. Reconnecting and successfully checking a valid licence renews that offline allowance. Network or account-service outages can prevent sign-in or a licence check; contact support if access fails unexpectedly.

CamTrack offers updates through its signed update service. Installation may need operating-system approval and a restart of CamTrack. Keep backups of your work and review an update's compatibility information before installing it. These terms do not promise a particular future feature or paid licence price.

Your work and TAAD Solutions Ltd's software

You retain your rights in the images, project data and results you create or analyse. You may share or publish your own results and reports, including in your own business work. TAAD Solutions Ltd does not acquire ownership of that work because you use CamTrack. You must have the permissions needed to use your input material. Ordinary account, licence and update checks do not upload those files. The privacy notice explains the account and connection information we handle.

TAAD Solutions Ltd retains its rights in CamTrack's proprietary code and branding. This trial does not grant a right to sell or sublicense that code, distribute modified CamTrack installers, or bypass its account and trial controls. Restrictions on the software do not restrict your separate rights in your images, projects, results or reports. They also do not override the third-party licences and mandatory legal rights described below.

Evaluating CamTrack and using its results

The trial gives you time to evaluate CamTrack's suitability while using it for your own research and business work. CamTrack measures and analyses movement from images; it does not supply engineering design, professional advice or certification of the safety of a structure, material or operation. The trial does not include bespoke validation of your investigation, engineering consultancy, or a guaranteed support response or service recovery time.

Image quality, calibration, model assumptions, analysis settings and software errors can affect results. Check the inputs, units, calibration and settings, and validate results against known measurements or an independent method appropriate to your investigation. Keep original images and independent backups of important project files and results, including before installing updates. Do not overwrite your only copy of an original input when preparing an analysis.

Do not use CamTrack output as the sole basis for a structural, engineering or other decision where an error could cause death, personal injury, or serious property or environmental damage. Such decisions require suitable independent checks and competent professional judgment. You remain responsible for choosing the methods and expertise appropriate to your work. This permits real research and business analysis, including work that informs professional decisions; it requires checks proportionate to the consequences of an error.

No software can remove the need for that judgment. These responsibilities do not excuse TAAD Solutions Ltd's own failure to exercise reasonable care and skill, erase a description or commitment that is legally binding on TAAD Solutions Ltd, or take away a remedy that the law gives you.

Third-party components

Third-party components remain governed by their own licences. The installed ThirdPartyNotices directory identifies them and provides applicable notices. Where those licences give you additional rights, they take precedence for those components.

In particular, Qt/PySide6 and Shiboken are used under the LGPL. You may modify and replace compatible LGPL libraries, and reverse engineer CamTrack as needed to debug those modifications. The included replacement instructions and corresponding-source information explain how to exercise those rights. These terms do not restrict them.

Where the Windows edition includes Intel OpenMP executable components, the permission to use those binaries is as incorporated in CamTrack. It does not grant independent SDK redistribution rights. Do not reverse engineer, decompile or disassemble those Intel binaries except where mandatory law permits it.

Where the Windows edition includes NVIDIA CUDA or cuDNN components, access them only through CamTrack and within their NVIDIA GPU scope. This licence does not grant standalone redistribution, modification or sublicensing rights in those components, or permission to reverse engineer them except as permitted by their agreement or mandatory law. Preserve their notices and proprietary rights. The CPU fallback does not grant permission to translate NVIDIA components for use on another vendor's GPU. Do not impose reciprocal source-disclosure terms on those proprietary binaries. These restrictions apply to the specified NVIDIA components, not to Qt or other separately licensed open-source software.

Ending use and resolving problems

You can stop using CamTrack and uninstall it at any time. Uninstalling leaves your project files and saved account/licence state intact. Contact us to request account closure or help removing saved sign-in data. Applicable retention and privacy rights are explained in the privacy notice.

If TAAD Solutions Ltd has reasonable grounds to believe an account is compromised or these terms are materially breached, TAAD Solutions Ltd may suspend access to the extent reasonably necessary to protect the service or address that breach. TAAD Solutions Ltd will explain the reason and how to resolve it where lawful and practicable. If a material breach can be remedied, you will have a reasonable opportunity to do so. Immediate suspension may be necessary for a security risk or legal requirement. TAAD Solutions Ltd may end the licence if a material breach cannot be remedied or continues after that opportunity. Contact support if you believe a restriction is mistaken.

Ending this licence does not transfer or remove your rights in your project files or results. Separately licensed third-party rights continue under their own terms. Rights and liabilities arising before termination are unaffected.

Responsibility and liability

Protections that apply to everyone

Nothing in these terms excludes or limits TAAD Solutions Ltd's liability for:

The business exclusions and cap below do not apply to these matters or reduce mandatory consumer rights. The responsibilities for validation and backups do not make you accept every risk or remove TAAD Solutions Ltd's legal duties.

If you are a consumer

You are a consumer if you enter these terms as an individual mainly for purposes outside your trade, business, craft or profession. Your actual purpose determines this, rather than your account label or email address. The business-only exclusions and cap below do not apply to you.

TAAD Solutions Ltd remains responsible for loss or damage caused by its breach of these terms or lack of reasonable care and skill where that loss or damage was reasonably foreseeable. This includes harm that was an obvious consequence or that you and TAAD Solutions Ltd contemplated when agreeing these terms. This paragraph does not restrict any broader remedy that applicable law gives you.

If you use CamTrack for business purposes

This subsection applies only when you enter these terms for your trade, business, craft or profession and are not a consumer. It allocates ordinary commercial risk for the free trial, subject to the protections for everyone above and the legal rules governing these limits.

TAAD Solutions Ltd excludes liability for lost profits, revenue, anticipated savings, commercial opportunities or goodwill, whether those losses arise directly or indirectly, and for other indirect or consequential losses. These exclusions do not exclude otherwise recoverable direct costs of restoring damaged data or reasonably repeating an affected analysis; those costs are subject to the aggregate cap below.

TAAD Solutions Ltd's total aggregate liability to you arising out of or in connection with your one-calendar-year free trial is limited to the greater of (a) GBP 500 or (b) 125% of the fees you paid or owe TAAD Solutions Ltd for the relevant CamTrack licence during the 12 months before the breach giving rise to the claim. There are no fees for this free trial, so its cap is GBP 500. This is one combined limit for all claims relating to that trial, including its installations and updates, rather than a separate limit for each claim, installation or update. It covers claims in contract, tort (including negligence), misrepresentation, breach of statutory duty or otherwise. It does not cap the liabilities expressly preserved under “Protections that apply to everyone”.

The business loss exclusions and cap do not restrict your rights under the separate third-party licences. They do not require you to indemnify TAAD Solutions Ltd for claims by other people or pay TAAD Solutions Ltd's legal costs merely because you make a complaint or bring a claim.

Governing law and disputes

These terms are governed by English law. For business users, the courts of England and Wales have exclusive jurisdiction over disputes concerning these terms. If you are a consumer, this does not remove mandatory legal protections or any right you have to bring a claim in the courts where you live. Neither contacting support nor making a complaint is a condition of exercising a legal right or bringing proceedings.
